While most of his peers were watching the financial crisis from the outside, Eric was in the middle of it — working directly with clients whose portfolios, homes, and retirement accounts were unraveling in real time. That crucible experience didn't just teach him how markets move. It taught him how financial decisions ripple through every part of a person's life — and how much it matters to have someone in your corner who genuinely understands both the numbers and the human stakes behind them.
It also taught him something that would define his entire career: the difference between an advisor who reacts and one who plans. When the crash came, clients with comprehensive strategies fared far better than those who had made decisions in isolation. That lesson never left him.

Over the next decade, Eric advanced through increasingly senior roles in financial planning and wealth management, ultimately serving as a Director of Wealth Management. During that time he worked with hundreds of clients across portfolio construction, tax strategy, retirement planning, estate planning, and investment analysis — building the analytical foundation that would later become the cornerstone of his real estate practice.
It was during this period that Eric noticed a persistent gap: his clients who were buying, selling, or investing in real estate were being served by agents who had no financial planning background whatsoever. Real estate transactions were being treated as isolated events rather than as integral moves within a broader financial strategy. He began to see a different way of doing things.

In 2018 Eric made a deliberate decision to transition into real estate full-time — not because he was walking away from his financial expertise, but because he wanted to bring that expertise directly to a market that desperately needed it. He founded The Ravenscroft Group with a clear mandate: treat every real estate transaction as the financial event it actually is.
From day one, Eric's approach was fundamentally different. Where other agents presented a single option — here's the listing price, here's the offer — Eric presented full financial analyses. Sellers received projections on what keeping and renting their home would generate, not just what selling it would net.
